Texas Tech started the game hitting seven of its first 10 shots to build a seven-point lead (18-11) at the 12:27 mark of the first half. They were 4-14 from that point into half-time. The Red Raiders were 1-7 from the 3-point line (they were 3-3 in the first half of their quarterfinal win against Colorado).
In Tech's quarterfinal win over Colorado, Mikey Marshall and Ronald Ross combined for 48 points, hitting 6-of-7 three-point shots and grabbing 14 rebounds. Against OSU, the two had 18 points, three 3-point field goal and 7 rebounds.
Going 3-for-3 from three-point range today, Marshall moved into 9th place on the all-time Big 12 Tournament three-point percentage chart with a .875 mark in two games (7-of-8).
Marshall was scoreless in the two previous meetings with OSU. His 12-point effort today extends his string of consecutive games scoring in double figures to five.
With 26 points today, Andre Emmett averaged 23.6 ppg. against OSU in their three meetings this season. His season high of 32 points came against the Cowboys in Lubbock.
Five assists by LucQuente White ties his second-best effort of the season. He had six at New Mexico on December 12.
Tech was 6-of-21 from behind the arc-the most three-point attempts since January 26, at Texas, when the Red Raiders put up 25. Against Colorado Friday, Tech set a tournament record for 3-point field goal percentage, shooting a season best .857 from behind the arc (6-7).
