LUBBOCK, Texas - While many other college students are off on exotic spring break trips, Texas Tech softball is business as usual this week as it takes to the road this week to play six games in four days.
The Lady Raiders (11-16) will first make a stop in El Paso, Texas, where they will play UTEP at 1 p.m. and Marist College at 3 p.m. on Tuesday. The team will continue on to Las Cruces, New Mexico, on Wednesday to play New Mexico State in a doubleheader. The doubleheader games against New Mexico State are slated to begin at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. The road trip will conclude on Friday, when they will be in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to play two games against New Mexico at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Tech's play has been impressive, posting a 7-3 mark in the last ten games. The team has been led by the exceptional play of senior Elyssa Sigala, who was named Big 12 Player of the Week after hitting .529 with three home runs and eight RBI at the Mutual of Omaha Lady Raider Softball Classic last weekend.
