"This is just a huge series in a lot of different ways," said head coach Larry Hays. "I have said all along that Missouri was one of the best teams in this league and they proved that this weekend by doing something nobody else has been able to do - beating Texas. I hope our fans realize what this series means and we need to pack Dan Law Field for all three games." Texas Tech (31-13 overall, 11-6) is one of the hottest teams in the nation as the squad has won six straight games and 14 of its last 16 and now stands just one game behind league leader Oklahoma State. The 25ht-ranked Red Raiders will have big test this weekend as they will play host to the Missouri Tigers in a three-game series beginning on Friday.
The Tigers are also one of the hottest teams in the Big 12 as they are coming off a big series win over then top-ranked Texas. The Tigers took 2-of-3 from the Longhorns and will be looking for their second straight series win over the Red Raiders as they defeated Tech in two games last year in Columbia. That series was shortened to just two games as the Sunday finale was rained out.
Tickets for the Missouri series can be purchased through the Texas Tech Athletic Ticket Office at (806) 742-TECH or 1-888-GOBIG12. Fans can also stop by any Select-A-Seat/United Supermarkets location or purchase them online 24 hours a day at www.texastech.com.
