Tech Volleyball Announces All-Tournament Team

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech volleyball coaches announced the all-tournament team for the Red Raider Roundup today, with senior Kelly Johnson receiving Tournament MVP honors as she recorded 39 kills in the tournament. UTEP's Brittany Stowers, freshman libero, was named the Best Defensive Player, registering 86 digs in three matches.
Tech's Nina Miller, sophomore middle blocker, and junior outside hitter Desiree Batista also received a spot on the six-member all-tournament team. Tech placed three Red Raiders on the team while also taking the tournament title with a 3-0 record.
UTEP and UT-Pan American both placed two players on the post tournament honors list, while North Texas placed one. The Miner's Kari Stacy, junior outside hitter, earned a spot on the all-tournament team joining fellow teammate Stowers. UTPA's Carol Marcengo, sophomore libero, and junior middle blocker Danielle Holthe also placed their names in the post tournament spotlight. North Texas's Katy Prokof, freshman outside hitter, was the only member of the Mean Green to make the all-tournament list.
