Texas Tech Meets Syracuse in the Garden

Luybbock, Texas - The Texas Tech Red Raiders have advanced to the championship rounds of the 2K Sports College Hoops Classic benefiting Coaches versus Cancer and will play the Syracuse Orange in Madison Square Garden on Thursday, November 17.
The first game of the semifinal doubleheader for the evening will feature Wake Forest versus Florida beginning at 6:00 PM (Central). The Red Raiders and the Orange will tip 20 minutes after the conclusion of the first game.
Both games will be televised on ESPN. Dan Shulman will call the play-by-play. Dick Vitale will provide the color analysis and Doris Burke will be the sideline reporter.
Texas Tech defeated San Jose State 88-54 in the opening round and then downed Georgia Southern 74-61 in the regional final to advance to New York City for the first of two games in Madison Square Garden. After having 11 points in the opener against San Jose State, Martin Zeno scored 28 points against Georgia Southern to earn Regional MVP honors for the Raiders.
Sixteenth ranked Syracuse advanced with wins over Bethune-Cookman (68-37) and Cornell (67-62).
Wake Forest, ranked 17th in the AP Poll, won the Winston-Salem Regional with wins over Mississippi Valley State (78-64) and in overtime against George Mason (83-78). Florida topped St. Peter's (80-51) in their opener and then defeated Albany (83-64).
The Championship Doubleheader in Madison Square Garden will begin on Friday, November 18 with the consolation game starting at 6 PM (Central). The championship game will begin 20 minutes after the conclusion of the first game. Television coverage will be provided by ESPN2.
Mark Finkner will call the courtside action along with Andy Hipsher as analyst on the Texas Tech Sports Network (KKAM 1340 AM), the flagship station for the Red Raiders.
After the two games this week in Madison Square Garden, Texas Tech returns to the United Spirit Arena for three home games. The Raiders will host the Furman Paladins on November 23, the Eagles of Morehead State visit on November 26, and the TCU Horned Frogs are in Lubbock on November 30.
