
Three Head to NCAA Championships

Lubbock, Texas - Three members of the Texas Tech cross country team will compete in the 2005 NCAA Championships, in Terre Haute, Ind., on Mon., Nov. 21. The race will be held at the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center with the men running at 12 p.m. and the women going at 1:15 p.m.
Violet Chemakwila, Irene Kimaiyo and Kevin Chelimo will represent the Red and Black on Monday.
Chemakwila finished in fourth place at the conference meet, the top Tech performer, and 13th place at the regional meet in Provo, Utah. She received an automatic bid once the at-large teams were chosen
Kimaiyo finished in 10th place at the Big 12 meet and qualified automatically for Nationals with a sixth-place finish at the regional meet, the top Tech finisher.
Chelimo finished in fourth place at the Big 12 meet and was named Newcomer of the Year. He also finished in sixth place at the regional meet and automatically qualified for NCAA Championships.
