TEXAS TECH TEAM NOTES
Texas Tech is now 4-1 in the quarterfinal round of the Big 12 Tournament. It's the fourth consecutive year the Red Raiders have made it to the semifinals. They're 0-3 in the semifinal round. Tech is now 7-8 overall in the Big 12 Tournament.
The Red Raiders trailed the majority of the second half (from 16:24 to 2:20), but went on a 12-2 run over a 7:05 stretch in the second half to reclaim the lead, 54-52. They outscored Iowa State 22-6 in the final 9:25 of the game.
Texas Tech had only three turnovers in the second half after committing 12 in the first.
The Red Raiders committed a season-low 11 personal fouls. That also ties a team Big 12 Tournament record recorded on two other occasions.
Texas Tech scored 13 points from the free throw line (13-17) in the second half after shooting just one in the first. They were 14-18 for the game.
The Red Raiders have been out-rebounded in eight wins this season, including today. Iowa State held a 42-32 advantage on the boards.
Iowa State went 0-6 from behind the arc to set an opponent low for 3-point field goals this season. It's the first time a team hasn't scored a 3-point field goal against the Red Raiders in the Big 12 Tournament.
This is the fifth time Texas Tech has had five players scored in double-figures.
TEXAS TECH PLAYER NOTES
Devonne Giles recorded his fourth double-double of the season with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Giles had six offensive rebounds, the most since he grabbed eight against Texas.
Jarrius Jackson scored 15 of his team-high 20 points in the second half. It's the eighth time Jackson has led the Red Raiders in scoring this season. It's the fourth time this season that Jackson has scored over 20 points.
Jackson was perfect from the free throw line (6-6) for the eighth time this season.
Ronald Ross' four steals is a team Big 12 Tournament record.
With 11 points, Ross has scored in double-figures in 20 consecutive games.
Curtis Stinson's 12 field goals is an opponent individual high in Big 12 Tournament play.
