Raiders in Semifinals at 1 PM

LUBBOCK, Texas - After downing the Iowa State Cyclones 64-56 on Friday, the Texas Tech Red Raiders take on the Oklahoma Sooners at 1 PM in the first of two semifinal games on Saturday afternoon at Kemper Arena in Kansas City. The game will be televised on ESPN-Regional and ESPNU. Fred White will call the play-by-play and Chris Piper will provide the game analysis.
In Lubbock, the game can be found on UPN Lubbock over-the air on channel 22 and the surrounding area. In Hobbs, NM, the game is available on channel 29. You can watch UPN Lubbock on Cox Cable channel 6. The DISH Network now offers UPN Lubbock on its local tier.
John Harris will call the courtside action for Texas Tech and Andy Hipsher will provide the analysis on KKAM (1340 AM), the flagship station for the Red Raiders.
The Red Raiders trailed the majority of the second half against ISU (from 16:24 to 2:20), but went on a 12-2 run over a 7:05 stretch in the second half to reclaim the lead, 54-52. The Raiders outscored Iowa State 22-6 in the final 9:25 of the game.
Texas Tech had only three turnovers in the second half after committing 12 in the first.
The Red Raiders committed a season-low 11 personal fouls. That also ties a team Big 12 Tournament record recorded on two other occasions.
Texas Tech scored 13 points from the free throw line (13-17) in the second half after shooting just one in the first. They were 14-18 for the game.
The Red Raiders have been out-rebounded in eight wins this season, including Friday's meeting with the Cyclones. Iowa State held a 42-32 advantage on the boards.
Iowa State went 0-6 from behind the arc to set an opponent low for 3-point field goals this season. It's the first time a team hasn't scored a 3-point field goal against the Red Raiders in the Big 12 Tournament.
This is the fifth time Texas Tech has had five players scored in double-figures. Jarrius Jackson paced the Raiders with 20 points. He scored 15 of his team-high 20 points in the second half. It's the eighth time Jackson has led the Red Raiders in scoring this season. It's the fourth time this season the sophomore from Monroe, Louisiana has scored at least 20 points. Jackson was perfect from the free throw line (6-6) for the eighth time this season.
Devonne Giles recorded his fourth double-double of the season with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Giles had six offensive rebounds, the most since he grabbed eight against Texas.
Ronald Ross' four steals is a team Big 12 Tournament record. With 11 points, Ronald has scored in double-figures in 20 consecutive games.
Freshman Martin Zeno dropped in 10 points as Curtis Marshall came off the bench to add 10 points and grab two steals.
Texas Tech is now 4-1 in the quarterfinal round of the Big 12 Tournament. It's the fourth consecutive year the Red Raiders have made it to the semifinals. Tech is now 7-8 overall in the Big 12 Tournament. The Raiders entered the Big 12 Tournament as a fourth seed, the highest seed for the Red Raiders in conference history.
Oklahoma entered the tournament as the top seed. The Sooners downed Missouri 83-79 in Friday's second round game at Kemper Arena. OU averaged 75.8 ppg for the season and 73.3 ppg in conference play.
The Red Raiders have four players who are averaging in double-figures for the season. Ronald Ross leads the squad with 16.4 points per game. Jarrius Jackson follows with 14.8 points per game. Martin Zeno averages 13.4 points per game. Devonne Giles is next with 11.6 points per game.
With 851 career victories over 39 seasons, Coach Bob Knight will be on the sidelines for his 1,183rd game with Saturday's game against Oklahoma. He is only the third coach to amass 850 wins in his career. The late Adolph Rupp won 876 games and Dean Smith leads everyone with 879 career wins.
