
Softball Host Kansas in Last Conference Series

LUBBOCK, Texas - Tech will end 2005 Big 12 play at home at Rocky Johnson Field against Kansas on Saturday, April 30 at 2 p.m. and Sunday, May 1 at noon. Tech is now 23-22 this season and 3-13 in Big 12.
The Red Raiders are coming off a midweek Big 12 doubleheader split with No. 6 Texas as Tech won 2-0 in 10.0 innings before losing the second game 3-0. In Tech's game one victory, the Red Raiders defeated 2004 Olympian gold medalist Cat Osterman as she gave up only one hit to Tech.
Tech is led by freshman Jennifer Corkin who is batting .302 with 11 doubles, one triple, five homeruns and 35 RBI. Senior Natalie Enderlin is batting .284 with five doubles, four homeruns and 15 RBI. In the circle for the Red Raider is junior Julie Hauck who has an ERA of 3.47 and is 1-8 on the season. Hauck has three saves in 59.2 innings of work. Hauck has totaled 29 strikeouts and 28 walks. Also in the circle is junior Erin Crawford who is 14-10 on the season and has 103 strikeouts and 32 walks in 128.2 innings of work.
SCOUTING KANSAS
Kansas is 24-19 overall and 5-7 in conference. The Jayhawks are led by Ashley Frazer who is batting .350. Also at the plate is Destiny Frankenstein who is batting .347 with eight doubles, 10 homeruns and 22 RBI. In the circle is Christina Ross who has an ERA of 1.73 and is 11-6 on the season. Ross has 94 strikeouts and 29 walks in 113.1 innings of play.
After the Red Raiders host Kansas, they will travel to Oklahoma City, Okla. to compete in the Big 12 Tournament.
