Lubbock, Texas - Texas Tech has the 16-game conference portion of their 2005-2006 season in place for men's basketball with the Red Raiders beginning conference play on the road against Texas A&M on Saturday, January 7.
Eleven of the sixteen conference games are currently slated for national or regional television with six of the eight conference home games and five of the eight conference road games featured on regional or national telecasts. Television coverage for the February 11 game at Colorado has yet to be determined.
It is expected that three of the remaining four games will be televised on the Texas Tech Television Network as a part of the third tier television package created and maintained by Texas Tech Men's Basketball - Special Projects.
Last season Texas Tech was 22-11, marking the first time the Red Raiders have had four consecutive seasons of winning at least twenty games in the school's eighty-year history of fielding teams.
Overall, three conference games will be shown nationally on ABC while five conference games will be shown on ESPN+. ESPN and ESPN2 will provide "Big Monday" coverage for three games (at Kansas, vs. Texas, and vs. Oklahoma).
The final home game of the conference season will be against Texas A&M on March 4 and will be televised by ESPN+.
The Phillips 66 Big 12 Tournament will be played at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, TX from March 9 - 12, 2006.
