Autograph/Fan Day Set for August 26

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech football fans will have the opportunity to meet and greet their favorite Red Raider players and coaches the evening of Fri., Aug. 26, at Jones SBC Stadium. Members of the 2005 Red Raider football team and staff will be available at the free event at 7:15 p.m. to sign autographs and pose for photographs with Red Raider fans of all ages.
A limited number of posters and markers will be available, but Tech fans are encouraged to bring their own items to be autographed by members of the team.
"This is something we are really looking forward to," head coach Mike Leach said. "I have always maintained that Texas Tech has the best fans in the Big 12. The players, coaches and I are looking forward to visiting with them Friday night."
In addition to the on-field activities, Plains Capital Bank is sponsoring Chow Down for Charity in the east stadium parking lot, beginning at 5 p.m. The event will feature 20 cooking teams from various local businesses and community groups vying for the title of "Best Barbeque," with Leach serving as the official judge of the event. Many other activities are scheduled as well, including a pie-eating contest, featuring members of the Tech football team.
Fans are encouraged to park on the west side of Jones SBC Stadium and enter the stadium through the Southeast ramp.
