Hicks Named to Biletnikoff Watch List

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech WR Jarrett Hicks (Houston, Texas) was named to the 2005 Biletnikoff Award Watch List on Monday, a year after setting the school single-season touchdown receptions record with 13. Hicks is one of 31 players named to the list for the award, which recognizes the nation's top collegiate receiver each year.

The All-Big 12 Conference junior wide out returns this season as one of the nation's top receivers from 2004. Hicks, the most dominant receiver in the Big 12 Conference last season, ranks fifth among all returning receivers in yards (1,177) and is tied first with Eastern Michigan's Eric Deslauriers in touchdown receptions (13).

A preseason All-America pick by NationalChamps.net, Hicks ranks sixth on the Tech career touchdowns receptions list with 18; ninth in career receiving yardage (1,675); and 10th in career receptions (108).

Other Big 12 Conference receivers on the list include D'Juan Woods (Oklahoma State), Sean Coffey (Missouri), Todd Blythe (Iowa State) and Travis Wilson (Oklahoma).
