The Red Raiders open the season Sept. 10 against Florida International and follow with home games on consecutive weekends against Sam Houston State (Sept. 17), Indiana State (Sept. 24) and Kansas (Oct. 1). Tech plays its first road game at Nebraska (Oct. 8) and returns home for a homecoming matchup with Kansas State (Oct. 15). The Red Raiders travel to Texas (Oct. 22) and Baylor (Oct. 29), before a home date with Texas A&M (Nov. 5). Tech faces Oklahoma State (Nov. 12) in its final road contest, and closes the regular season against Oklahoma (Nov. 19) at home.
"The Select-A-Seat outlets, including the United Supermarket stores, and the Internet are a vital part of our ticket operation," Dave Welsh, Assistant AD/Ticket Operations, said. "We want fans to use those avenues to purchase individual game tickets, not just for football, but for Red Raider and Lady Raider basketball and baseball."
Single-game prices for the Florida International, Sam Houston State and Indiana State games are $40 for chairbacks and $20 for bench seats. Kansas and Kansas State tickets will cost $50 chairback and $25 bench, while all seats for the Oklahoma game are $65.
Texas Tech fans have shown their enthusiasm for Red Raider football as season ticket sales are approaching 37,500, which is close to the record number of season tickets sold in 2004. Five weeks remain in this year's season ticket campaign.
A new ticket buying and selling feature will be unveiled this season. Red Raider Marketplace will enable Tech ticket holders who can't make a game to sell their tickets on-line through www.texastech.com. The service is for tickets in donor-based seating areas only and Red Raider Club donation credit will be awarded to the seller when the tickets are purchased.
