Red Raider Volleyball Sweeps Stony Brook, 3-0

Dallas, Texas- Fresh off their 3-1 defeat of Oral Roberts, the Texas Tech Red Raider volleyball team took their second victory of the SMU Tournament, 3-0, over the Stony Brook Seawolves, of Long Island, New York and a member of the America East conference.
The starters for the match were seniors Desiree Batista and Brianna Florus, juniors Kiley Lyons, Philister Sang and Robyn Bucy, sophomore Amy Charlebois and freshman Holly Hicks.
Charlebois and Lindsey Louis each accounted for 10 kills while Emily Ziegler led defensively with 10 digs while tallying 18 assists. Jamye Pauley notched one solo block and three block assists on the net. Hicks earned eight points during the match, seven from service aces alone. In addition to her service aces, Hicks also chipped in with 19 assists
Stony Brook never led at any point in the match. Tech now moves to 2-2 on the season and 2-0 at the SMU Tournament. The Red Raiders will play the SMU Mustangs, Sat., Sept. 3, at 3:30 p.m.
