Red Raiders Host Cowboys on Saturday

The Texas Tech Red Raiders host the Oklahoma State Cowboys on Saturday. The tip-off will be at 12:47 PM.
The game will be televised on ESPN-Regional. Dave Armstrong will call the play-by-play. Reid Gettys will provide the game analysis.
John Harris will provide the courtside action along with Andy Hipsher as analyst on the Texas Tech Sports Network (KKAM 1340 AM / KQBR 99.5 FM).
This will be the 36th meeting between the Red Raiders and the Cowboys since the series began on January 1, 1937. Overall, Oklahoma State leads the series 25-10.
The Red Raiders are 10-9 for the 2005-2006 season and 2-3 in Big 12 play after their 60-48 loss at Oklahoma on January 21.
Jarrius Jackson led the team in scoring with 15 points. Jay was 4-of-12 from the field, 3-of-6 from three-point territory, and 4-of-4 from the free throw line. Martin Zeno registered 13 points for the Raiders.
Texas Tech has two players averaging double figures for the season with Jarrius Jackson averaging 19.1 points per game and Martin Zeno scoring 16.3 points per game. After nineteen games, the Raiders are averaging 69.5 points per game while their opponents are scoring 67.1 points per game.
The Cowboys are 12-7 overall and 2-3 in conference play for the 2005-2006 season. OSU lost at Missouri in their conference opener, 69-61.They defeated Texas A&M (79-77) and Baylor (66-48) before losing to Colorado (80-78) in overtime at home. The Cowboys lost their most recent game at Texas (80-46) on January 23.
Oklahoma has three players averaging double figures in Mario Boggan (13.6 ppg), Torre Johnson (12.7 ppg), and JamesOn Curry (12.5 ppg). The Cowboys are scoring 73.8 ppg and allowing their opponents 65.6 ppg.
The Red Raiders continue Big 12 Conference play on Monday night on ESPN2 against the Kansas Jayhawks. The game will begin at 8 PM. The Raiders return to the United Spirit Arena on February 4 for their 12:30 game against Missouri.
The Big 12 Conference is celebrating its Tenth Anniversary of athletic competition during the 2005-2006 season. In an effort to recognize this milestone, the conference and its member schools are selecting special 10th anniversary teams for all sports. In certain sports, including men's and women's basketball, the Big 12 is asking its fans to vote via the league web site for student-athletes they feel should be honored on anniversary teams as part of the celebration.
On-line voting for the Big 12 Conference's 10th Anniversary men and women's basketball teams began on Saturday, January 7. Voting is open to all fans and will end on February 2.

Coach Bob Knight (Ohio State, 1962) enters his fifth season at the helm of the Raider program and has notched four consecutive 20+ wins in Lubbock. In 39 seasons of coaching, he has taken his teams to post-season play 36 times. Coach Knight numbers third among all coaches on the all-time career wins list with 863 victories. He is the youngest of the four coaches (Dean Smith-879, Adolph Rupp-876, Bob Knight-864, and Jim Phelan-830) and the only active coach to reach that remarkable plateau of 800 career victories.
