Texas Tech Head Coach Mike Leach
On the game:
"I think it was really a hard-fought game on both sides. I think in our case, I thought we played real hard and had a lot of guys step up and make plays. Coming to their place, they deserve a lot of credit for any problems we may have had.The biggest thing we battled was consistency. We made big plays. We did a lot of good things. We played real hard, but we could have been more consistent offensively and defensively giving up big plays. The game was wild -- back and forth -- and that's just how it is. Two good teams played tonight."
On it being a physical game:
"I thought both teams were really tough. It was an extremely physical game. Both teams really wanted to win the game. This game here was a hard-fought deal of inches and we just came up a few inches short when it comes down to it."
On OU quarterback Paul Thompson:
"Certainly as far as throwing the ball this is the best game I've seen him play. The thing I thought he did well, even though he was inconsistent as well, was he dealt with adversity and disappointments and just kept plugging away. There are a lot of quarterbacks that get in that situation and have a tendency to pack it in, and he never did. He played confident and he played hard the whole game."
Texas Tech Junior DE Seth Nitschmann
On if they changed their strategy because of Allen Patrick not playing:
"I think we pretty much kept the same game plan. It came down to giving up big plays and in the end they fought harder then we did."
On the pressure the defense feels when the offense is struggling:
"During the game, we just have to come out and perform to the best of our ability. When the offense performs, it does provide momentum, but at the same time we have to perform like we always do."
Texas Tech Senior CB Antonio Huffman
On the how they set the tone in the first half with such physical play:
"We were excited and we came out and played hard. The thing is we just need to sustain that excitement. The key is to stay excited and keep making plays."
On how much of a momentum change the Oklahoma touchdouwn was right before the half:
"I think it was a little of a momentum changer but it was the half. I think the defense came back out and stopped them the first series, so that was key."
On his touchdown interception:
"On the previous play, they threw an out route. I saw the QB check to it. Once I saw him do that, I got outside a little bit more. I was kind of sitting on it. Once I saw it happen, I just had to make the play on it."
