Lady Raiders Romp Athletes in Action, 88-48

LUBBOCK, Texas - In its final exhibition game of the season, the Texas Tech women's basketball team romped Athletes in Action, 88-48, Sunday at the United Spirit Arena.
Leading the way for Tech was junior Erin Myrick with 16 points and senior Alesha Robertson with 15. Also scoring in double figures were freshmen Jordan Murphree and Raquel Christian with 14 and 13 points, respectively. Robertson was the top rebounder, grabbing eight boards and Myrick and junior Tawanna Flowers each chipped in six rebounds. Sophomore Tiny Henderson dished out six assists and Murphree tallied three steals.
Athletes in Action was led by Crystal Coston and Katie Voigt who each scored 11 points.
Tech shot 54.8 percent from the field (34-of-62), including 60.7 percent in the first half, while Athletes in Action were 32.6 percent from the field, hitting 15-of-46 shot attempts. Tech also shot 52.9 percent from three-point range as it sank 9-of-17 three-pointers.
The Lady Raiders outrebounded Athletes in Action 44 to 28.
Tech will tip-off the 2006-07 regular season on Fri., Nov. 10, as it hosts Texas-San Antonio at 7 p.m.
