Dykes Recognized as Top Recruiter

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech assistant football coach Sonny Dykes has been honored as one of the nation's top college football recruiters by Rivals.com. The sixth-year wide receivers coach and co-offensive coordinator is one of 25 assistant coaches from across the county recognized.
Dykes was instrumental in Tech's recent success with its 2006 signing class that ranked as high as 17th nationally. Responsible for recruiting Louisiana and areas in Texas, he played in integral role in landing several of Tech's top recruits.
During his tenure at Texas Tech, the Red Raider receiving corps has broken several school and Big 12 Conference records. Additionally, wide receivers Jarrett Hicks and Joel Filani are listed among the top five receivers for the 2006 season.
Dykes was one of five Big 12 assistants so honored.
