Tech Finds Nine NCAA Qualifying Marks at UNLV Invite

Las Vegas, Nev. - Under windy conditions in Sin City, Texas Tech track and field posted nine NCAA regional qualifying marks at the UNLV Invitational, in Las Vegas, on Saturday. Bobby Evers' 25'-4.75" long jump was good for a first-place finish and is currently the second-best jump in the nation. The mark is a regional qualifying and a personal best for Evers.
In the 400M hurdles, Bryan Scott, clocking a 51.66, earned a first-place finish with his second regional qualifying time of the season. Shawon Harris finished second with a 51.80, his first regional qualifying time in this event. Harris has also posted a regional qualifying time in the 110M hurdles.
Michael Mathieu won the open 400M with a regional qualifying time of 47.12, his first regional qualifying time in this event. Mathieu has also posted a regional qualifying time in the 200M.
In the women's long jump, Sabrina Taylor finished second with a regional qualifying leap of 19'-9.5". Julianne Kennedy finished fourth with a personal best jump of 18'-10.75".
Misty Coley finished second in the high jump and was the top collegiate finisher with her regional qualifying clearance of 5'-10". This is Coley's second regional qualifying mark of the season and she matched her outdoor personal best.
