Red Raiders open outdoor season at ACU

Texas Tech will begin the outdoor season at the annual Wes Kittley Invite
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech outdoor track and field team will open its season at the 12th-annual Wes Kittley Invite Friday and Saturday at Elmer Gray Stadium.
Tech will be traveling a limited squad this weekend before opening with a bigger roster at next weekend's home meet – the Masked Rider Open.
Friday afternoon will begin with the throws as the discus and javelin will get underway for the first time all year. On the women's side, leading returner Leah Howard holds a PB mark of 50.01m (164-4) – she placed fourth at Big 12s last season. Day one will be wrapped up with the 1500m and 5k races.
Saturday's field events begin at 11 a.m. with the pole vault as the women compete first, followed by the men. The shot put will commence near 3 p.m. Newcomer Sean Dixon will look to make his debut as he's the 2025 NCAA DII champion in the 400m hurdles. He holds a PB time of 49.54.
