LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech Red Raiders begin a nine-game homestand on Tuesday afternoon as they play host to the New Mexico Lobos at Dan Law Field beginning at 3 p.m. Tuesday's game will be carried live on the Texas Tech Sports Network (KKAM 1340 locally) beginning with the pre-game show at 2:35 p.m. Tickets for the game are available through the Texas Tech Athletics Ticket Office at (806) 742-TECH.
The Red Raiders hope that the friendly confines of Dan Law Field will generate good fortunes for a young squad that dropped a three-game series on the road this past weekend against No. 24 Kansas. Tech came away with an 8-6 win on Saturday but dropped a pair of 5-3 decisions on Friday and Sunday and the Red Raiders now sit in seventh place with a 5-6 Big 12 record.
Texas Tech will be looking for its second win over New Mexico (20-11) and Tuesday's game will mark the second of four meetings scheduled between these two clubs this season. The Red Raiders won an 8-7 thriller (10 innings) against the Lobos at the beginning of the season and now lead the all-time series 49-30-1.
