With the setback, the Red Raiders end the 2006 season with a 19-35 record, while Missouri moves on to face second-seeded Nebraska.
In the top of the first inning, it was Texas Tech that jumped out to an early lead as junior designated player Brandy Moulin drove in her 15th run of the season with a two-out RBI double, which scored left fielder Devin Zaragoza who had reached on a error earlier in the inning.

In the bottom of the third, a two-run double by pitcher Jen Bruck extended the Tiger lead and another two-run Missouri inning in the fourth put them up 6-1.
Bruck was able to work out of trouble on several occasions in the contest as the Red Raiders left base runners stranded in scoring position in each of the first three innings.
Texas Tech attempted a late inning rally in the seventh inning, loading the bases with no outs in the frame and picking up runs on a RBI ground out by pinch hitter Alex Watkins and a sacrifice fly by right fielder Whitney Riley. But the team could get no closer than 6-3, as a ground out to shortstop ended the affair.
