Practice Set for Volleyball Squad

LUBBOCK, Texas - The 2006 Texas Tech volleyball team is set to begin practice next week, with the team reporting on Monday, August 7, as announced by head coach Nancy Todd. The 15-member team consists of top returner and 2005 Big 12 Newcomer of the Year Philister Sang, as well as a crew of four newcomers.
The season gets underway August 25 as the team travels to El Paso, Texas, for the Sun Bowl Volleyball Invitational when the Red Raiders' face their first opponent, New Mexico State. Tech will travel to two more tournaments, the UT-Pan American Tournament and the University of South Florida Tournament, before conference play begins on September 13th at Texas.
Red Raiders face their first home challenge on September 16th when the Buffaloes of Colorado come to the United Spirit Arena. Reigning Big 12 champions and national runners-up, Nebraska, travel to Lubbock on November 1st.
