Volleyball Swept In Home Opener

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech volleyball squad dropped its second conference match 3-0 to the Colorado Buffs at the United Spirit Arena. The home opener was spoiled for the Red Raiders with scores of 30-27, 30-28, 30-22.
Colorado outhit Tech .306 to .168, with the Red Raiders having 40 kills with 22 errors on 107 total attacks. Philister Sang led the effort for Texas Tech with 9 kills and added in a defensive effort of 10 digs. Emily Ziegler and Holly Hicks each had 14 attacks. Amy Charlebois and Laura Gottschalk had four blocks each.
The Red Raiders continue their run through the Big 12 conference season with two road matches next week. Tech first travels to Baylor on Wednesday, and then will face the No. 1 Nebraska Cornhuskers on Saturday.
