CRABTREE SETS NCAA FRESHMAN RECEPTIONS RECORD
Freshman wide receiver Michael Crabtree's 11th reception of the game (0:07 seconds left in third quarter - resulted in a 19-yard touchdown) made him the new NCAA receptions leader by a freshman. The previous record was also held by a Red Raider as Taurean Henderson caught 98 passes during his freshman campaign in 2002. Crabtree snapped his two-game scoring draught when he caught a 19-yard touchdown pass from Graham Harrell with seven seconds remaining in the third quarter.
- Finished with a game-high 12 catches for 131 yards and 1 touchdown. Has posted 100-plus yards receiving in eight of nine games this season.
NOTING THE RED RAIDERS
- The last time Texas Tech was shutout in three consecutive quarters was during the second half at Oklahoma and the first quarter against Oklahoma State last year.
- Alex Trlica snapped Tech's scoreless streak with 5:12 remaining in the second quarter when he kicked a 30-yard field goal to put the Red Raiders on the board for the first time since the second quarter of last week's game at Missouri.
- The last time Texas Tech was held without a touchdown in the first half at home was against Nebraska back in 2000.
- For the second straight week, Tech quarterback Graham Harrell had a pass intercepted and returned for a touchdown. Jordan Dizon returned an INT 42 yards with 10:50 remaining in the third quarter to give the Buffaloes a 23-6 lead.
- Following the interception return, Harrell found junior receiver Eric Morris on a 31-yard touchdown strike that marked Tech's first touchdown since the second quarter of last week's Missouri game. The touchdown reception was his fifth of the season.
