Dallas Braden Set To Make Major League Debut

LUBBOCK, Texas - Former Texas Tech pitcher Dallas Braden will make his major league debut this afternoon with the Oakland A's when they take on the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards.
Braden, a native of Stockton, Calif., pitched one season for the Red Raiders back in 2004 before being drafted in the 24th-round of the MLB Draft. He helped lead the Red Raiders to an NCAA Tournament where Tech finished second at the Atlanta Regional and ended the year with a 40-21 overall record. That season he compiled a 6-4 record along with a 4.56 ERA through 17 starts and 98 2/3 innings.
Braden started the 2007 season at Double-A Midland where he was 1-0 with 2.25 ERA before being promoted to Triple-A Sacramento. Today's game is set for a 2 p.m. (CT) first pitch.
