Hey guys! It's Amy again. Spring season is moving along quickly. We just had our home spring tournament, which we came out 4-0. Our squad played 3 local teams, Frank Phillips, Abilene Christian and West Texas A&M, finishing the day against our alumni team. The alumni team wore shirts with "AARP" on the front. Altogether the whole day was very successful; we got to see all of our hard work in the last couple of months pay off on the court against the competition. We of course had some ups and downs, but that is the beauty of off season. We worked through it together as a team and made every play better. I thought that we worked really well in many aspects of the game and were able to practice our new line up. It was also great to play with Brandi Hood, or "b-hood" which is slowly catching on with everyone. She just got here in January from her junior college and has quickly impressed everyone.
We are still in the gym everyday with team practices getting ready for our last off season tournament which is in Houston, April 14 and 15. The competition there should be awesome. There are many different team from the Big 12 and from across the country attending the tournament. This will be the last time that our whole team will be aloud to play together with the coaches and players until two-a-days start in August. After the Houston tournament we will begin individual practices again, for a couple of weeks, which is when we practice outside with four players and the coaches. These practices will last until our spring fling tournament, the outdoor two's or four's tournament that is open to anyone to participate. I highly recommend competing in it.
Hope to see you around!
