Red Raider Volleyball Members Receive Academic Recognition

LUBBOCK, Texas - As all Texas Tech student-athletes near the end of the 2006-07 academic year, the Red Raider volleyball members were among those honored at the annual Academic Awards Reception on Mon., April 30th. Ten of the team players were recognized as having one of three academic levels of achievement.
Receiving the highest level of recognition of Excellence with a 3.75-4.00 grade point average were three of the Red Raiders. Juniors Emily Ziegler and Alicia Ostmeyer of the College of Arts and Science, as well as freshman Jenn Harrell in the College of Education, were listed in the category.
Named in the High Merit level with an overall GPA of 3.4-3.74 were four volleyball members, including three graduating seniors. Robyn Bucy, a biology and chemisty major, Kiley Lyons, a masters of business administration, and Jamye Pauley, in human development and family studies, finish their athletic careers with the High Merit. Also in the category is Holly Hicks, an undeclared sophomore from Round Rock, Texas.
Four of the student-athletes were listed in the final class of Merit, having a GPA of 3.0-3.39. Junior Amy Charlebois and freshman Brittany Hughes of the College of Arts and Sciences and freshman Kelli Minardo in the College of Architecture were honored with Merit.
Outgoing senior student-athlete Pauley, listed as a High Merit honoree, was named as the Graduating High Senior.
