LUBBOCK, Texas - Coming off one of the toughest schedules in program history, the Texas Tech women's tennis team and head coach Cari Groce announce their schedule for the 2007-08 season. Individual fall tournament play will begin on Sept. 14, 2007, as the team travels to the annual North Texas Invite.
Upon returning from Denton, Texas, the Lady Raiders will host the fourth-annual Scarborough Specialties Open on Sept. 21-22 at the McLeod Tennis Center. After the All-American Invite in California, Tech will be the host of the 2007 Wilson/ITA Southwest Regional for the first time.
Duals action will begin on Jan. 18 in Orlando, Fla., as the team will participate in the Central Florida Duals. Boasting yet another challenging non-conference schedule, the Lady Raiders look to reclaim national ranking status. They will hit the road taking on a series of ranked opponents, including No. 42 Arizona, No. 44 Boise State and No. 26 BYU.
The women will open conference play in mid-March as they travel to Lincoln, Neb., to face the Cornhuskers. The team will host five Big 12 matches, including powerhouse No. 13 Baylor, No. 37 Colorado, No. 59 Oklahoma State, Oklahoma and Texas A&M. The Lady Raiders will wrap up the season on the road at Texas, before traveling to the Big 12 Tournament in College Station, Texas.
