Harrell, Trlica Receive Weekly Honors

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech QB Graham Harrell and PK Alex Trlica were honored Monday for their efforts in Saturday's 49-45 loss at Oklahoma State as the Big 12 Conference Offensive Player of the Week and Lou Groza Collegiate Star of the Week, respectively.
The junior quarterback completed 46-of-67 of his passes and his yardage marked the fourth best single-game total in NCAA history. Harrell leads the nation in virtually every passing category and is averaging 490.8 yards per game. He has thrown 19 touchdown passes and is responsible for 30.0 points per game. His 636 yards of total offense yesterday is second Tech annals, while his passing total also ranks second.
On the Texas Tech charts, Harrell moved from fifth to third on the career passing yardage list and has 6,910 for his career. He trails Robert Hall in second place by 998 yards. He ranks ninth with 19 single-season scoring strikes and moves into second place with 60 career touchdown passes.
On the year, Harrell has games of 419 yards (SMU), 484 (UTEP) and 414 (Rice) in addition to Saturday's performance at Oklahoma State. Harrell's 485.2 yards of total offense on the season leads the country.
Trlica was one of three kickers honored by the Palm Beach Sports Commission and Lou Groza Award. The senior extended his NCAA record for consecutive extra points to 193 after going 6-for-6 at OSU. He also added a field goal and became the third player and first kicker in school history to reach 300 career points. Trlica ranks third all-time at Tech with 307 points and trails second place by five.
With 38 career field goals, Trlica ranks fifth all-time at Tech and trails former Red Raider and Kansas City Chief Lin Elliott in fourth place by two field goals.
The Red Raiders continue the 2007 season with their final non-conference game of the season against Northwestern (La.) State. Kickoff is 6 p.m. Saturday at Jones AT&T Stadium.
