SKGSL College Classic Tournament Schedule Published

LUBBOCK, Texas - When Texas Tech travels to Houston for fall competitions, it will face Galveston College on Friday night, October 12 before taking on UL Lafayette, Southern Mississippi and Texas State on Saturday and Sunday, according to information recently sent by the tournament director.
The complete tournament schedule (as of Sept. 25, 2007) is as follows: Texas Tech vs. Galveston College at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12; Texas Tech vs. UL Lafayette on Saturday, Oct. 13 at 10 a.m. and TTU vs. Texas State on Saturday, Oct. 13 at 2:30 p.m. On the concluding day of the event, Sunday, Oct. 14, Tech will face Texas State at 9:30 a.m., before squaring off with Galveston College a second time at the tournament at 11:45 a.m.
All games are played at Spring Klein park in Houston. The event is hosted by the Spring Klein Girls Softball League organization.
The team will travel, by bus, to the Houston area on Friday. This means that both an extremely early departure time from the Lubbock area AND an exceptional, quick-witted, back-roads-Texas-knowledgeable professional motor coach operator will be required to ensure that the team arrives in time to play that first game on Friday night. Inconveniences like this are not uncommon to the squad in the fall (and at this particular event in Houston) so the team will be fully versed in "visualizing" warm-up while seated on the bus.
Please Note: Games played in the fall are not official, therefore they do not count in NCAA records and statistics will not be published. However, we will post results and highlights as stories to this Web site for all games played throughout the fall season.
