No. 2 Huskers Too Tough for Red Raiders

LUBBOCK, Texas - The No. 2 Nebraska Cornhuskers (13-0, 5-0) proved to be too tough for the Texas Tech Red Raiders (5-11, 0-5) as they swept the Big 12 volleyball match 3-0 (25-13, 25-25, 25-13).
The first set had the Red Raiders struggle as it hit a -.083 hitting percentage as Nebraska cruised 25-13. Tech put up a fight in the second set as it hit .267 as a team and had the score tied at 23-23 before Nebraska scored two consecutive points winning 25-23. Nebraska showed its dominance in the third set as it hit .429 as a team and win 25-13.
The Red Raiders were led by middle blocker Amanda Dowdy and outside hitter Becca Baldwin as both had five kills a piece. Middle blocker Brandi Hood had six blocks for the match.
Tara Mueller led the Cornhuskers with 13 kills for the match.
Tech hosts Kansas on Sat., Oct. 4th at 7 p.m. at the United Spirit Arena.
