GETTING STARTED
- Texas Tech won the opening coin toss and elected to receive. Tech is now 6-5 on the year in the opening toss.
- Tonight's game was televised nationally by ABC Sports and marked Tech's eighth televised game of the season and the fourth on ABC. Tonight's commentators for the third consecutive week were Brent Musburger, Kirk Herbstreit and Lisa Salters.
- Texas Tech is the only Big 12 institution to have played three consecutive games in primetime on ABC. Oklahoma previously played in primetime in consecutive games back in 2003 (Big 12 Championship and the Sugar Bowl).
- Weather conditions at kickoff: 48 degrees, wind at 12 mph.
- Senior cornerback L.A. Reed made his second start of the season at the right corner position in replacement of Brent Nickerson. His only other start this year came against Texas A&M back on Oct. 18.

NOTING THE RED RAIDERS
- Texas Tech was held scoreless in the first quarter for the first time this season and it marked only the second quarter all season long that the Red Raider offense failed to score. The only other time Tech was held scoreless was in the fourth quarter against UMASS.
- Texas Tech finally got on the board when Harrell found Tramain Swindall on a 25-yard touchdown pass with 6:28 remaining in the second quarter. The TD reception was his second of the season and his first since the UMASS game.
- Senior receiver Eric Morris hauled in an 11-yard touchdown reception to cut the OU lead to 52-13 with 5:39 remaining in the third quarter. The TD catch was his seventh of the season.
