RED RAIDERS NOW 10-0 FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 70 YEARS
The 2008 Texas Tech Red Raiders have accomplished something that has not been done here in 70 years---started a season 10-0. For the first time since 1938, the Red Raiders stand at 10-0 on the year and have a 6-0 record in conference play for the first time in school history. Texas Tech has also reached the 10-win mark for the first time since the 1976 season (Blayne Beal, Don William's favorite Texas Tech Media Relations guy was not even born yet and Chris Cook was in the first grade).
BIG 12 SOUTH ON THE LINE TWO WEEKS FROM NOW IN NORMAN
Texas Tech's 56-20 win over No. 8 Oklahoma State has setup a Big 12 South showdown in two weeks at Memorial Stadium in Norman, Okla. Texas Tech will be looking for a share of its first ever Big 12 South Division Championship but it will have to be earned with a win over the defending Big 12 Champion Oklahoma Sooners. Tech's only win in Norman was in 1996 when the Red Raiders prevailed 22-12.
HARRELL CONTINUES TO MAKE HIS CASE FOR A TRIP TO NEW YORK
Senior quarterback and Heisman Trophy Candidate Graham Harrell proved again tonight to a national television audience why he is worthy of a trip to New York City as a contender for the 2008 Heisman Memorial Trophy. Harrell is a semifinalist for the Maxwell and Davey O'Brien Awards and put up big numbers again tonight for the Red Raiders and led them to a 56-20 blowout of Oklahoma State. DEFENSE SHUTS DOWN POTENT COWBOY OFFENSE
