Tech Soccer Travels to Austin for First Spring Match

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech soccer team will kick off the 2008 spring season at 10 a.m. Saturday against UCF at Town and Country Fields in Austin. The Knights advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament last season.
Tech lost only two seniors, Priscilla Esquivel and Kim Cypert, off the 2007 squad that finished 7-8-2 overall, 5-4-1 in the Big 12. Both Esquivel and Cypert will play with the Red Raiders throughout the spring.
Central Florida is already 2-0 this spring, defeating the University of Victoria, 2-0, and the University of Alberta, 5-0. The Knights finished the 2007 campaign 15-4-4.
Tech continues its spring schedule March 8 against West Texas A&M in Canyon.
