- The Red Raiders would get the leadoff hitter on-base in each of the first four innings, but would be unable to score him each time.
- Willie Rueda matched his career-high in walks with three set the previous day, getting the free pass in each of his first three plate appearances.
- Chad Bettis went 4 1/3 innings, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits.
- Doug Thennis 3-for-4 with 2 RBIs for his ninth multiple-RBI game of the season, which ties the team-high. Thennis' three hits match his season-high.
- The win gives Kansas its first ever sweep over Tech.
