Lubbock, TX - The Texas Tech Red Raiders (11-8, 1-3) continue Big 12 play on the road against the Aggies of Texas A&M (15-5, 1-4) on Wednesday evening in College Station. The game can be seen on ESPNU beginning at 8 PM.
Doug Bell will call the play-by-play. Reid Gettys will provide the game analysis.
Mark Finkner will call Wednesday's action against the Aggies along with analyst Corky Oglesby on the Texas Tech Sports Network local station Sports Radio 1340.
This will be the 118th meeting between the Red Raiders and the Aggies since the series began on December 17, 1941. Overall, Texas Tech leads the series 63-54. The Red Raiders lead the series in Lubbock 36-17 and on neutral courts, 5-4. The Aggies have a 33-22 advantage in College Station.
Last season, each team won on their home court. The Red Raiders topped the Aggies in Lubbock on January 16, 68-53. Texas A&M beat the Red Raiders in College Station on February 27, 98-54.
Texas A&M opened conference play with a loss to OSU and then topped Baylor to even their record after two games. Since then, the Aggies have lost to Oklahoma, at Kansas, and at Texas.
The Aggies have four players averaging double figures for the season. Josh Cater leads his squad with 12.9 points per game. Donald Sloan is averaging 11.6 points per game. Chinemelu Elonu is scoring 10.3 points per game. Bryan Davis is adding 10.2 points per game.
Texas Tech earned their first conference victory of the 2008-2009 season with an eight-point win over Colorado (63-55) on January 20. The Red Raiders held a four-point lead at the half, 27-23. In the second half, Tech outscored the Buffaloes by the four points, 36-32.
The Red Raiders dropped their most recent game to Missouri in Columbia on Saturday, 97-86. Freshman Robert Lewandowski led Texas Tech in scoring with 16 points. Missouri's DeMarre Carroll led both teams with 27 points.
Four Red Raiders are averaging double figures for the season. John Roberson is scoring 14.1 points per game. Alan Voskuil is averaging 13.6 points per game. Mike Singletary is adding 11.1 points per game. Nick Okorie is scoring 10.3 points per game.
The Red Raiders host Nebraska at the United Spirit Arena on Saturday, January 31. The game will start at 7 PM and will be televised by the Big 12 Network.
