
#20 Lady Raiders After Third-Straight Chile Pepper Title

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech cross country teams will be headed to Fayetteville, Ark., for the annual Chile Pepper Festival and the No. 20 Lady Raiders will be after its third-straight team title this Saturday.
The Lady Raiders have been a fixture at the Chile Pepper over the last three years as former nine-time NCAA champion Sally Kipyego won the race three-straight years and the during the final two, helping the team win the team title.
Lillian Badaru will be after her second-straight individual title of the season after winning the Cowboy Jamboree two weeks ago. She has finished in the top five in every race this season. Along with Purity Biwott and Caroline Karunde who have also finished in the top five of every race will be looking for their fourth team of the year.
The women's race will feature No. 12 Baylor, No. 22 BYU and No. 26 SMU. The women's race begins at 10:30 a.m.
The men's team is led by Gilbert Limo who finished 28th at the Cowboy Jamboree. The junior All-Big 12 runner had won the first two races of the year. The rest of the squad will look to rebound as well Silas Kemboi, Cory Higgins and Zach Quinones have two top 10 finishes a piece on the year.
The men's race has No. 4 Oklahoma State, No. 23 Oklahoma and No. 25 Arkansas. The men's race is scheduled for 9:45 a.m.
