Red Raiders Face Sooners in Norman

Lubbock, TX -- The Texas Tech Red Raiders (12-12, 2-7) take on the Sooners of the University of Oklahoma (24-1, 10-0) in Norman on Saturday at 12:30 PM.
The game will be televised by the Big 12 Network. For the first time this season, regionally syndicated games will be televised on the Big 12 Network as part of the conference's agreement with ESPN Regional Television.
The games, previously branded as ESPN Plus, are broadcast throughout the conference's geographic footprint. Many of the Big 12 Network games will also be available as part of ESPN Full Court, the pay subscription college basketball outer-market service. In addition, numerous games will be available 72 hours after completion via the newly redesigned Big 12 web site at big12sports.com.
Bob Carpenter will call the play-by-play. Stephen Howard will provide the game analysis.
In Lubbock, Saturday's game can be seen on KJTV-TV (FOX) which is available over-the-air on Channel 34 and digital channel 34.1 It is also available on SuddenLink Channel 10, Dish Network Channel 34 and NTS Channel 10.
ESPN is also scheduled to air the game as a part of their Full-Court package. The game will be featured online via ESPN360.com -- ESPN's signature broadband sports TV network.
Texas Tech and Oklahoma are meeting for the 44th time since the series began on December 27, 1944. Overall, Oklahoma leads the series 27-16. Texas Tech has the edge in Lubbock, 10-9. Oklahoma has won 16 of 21 games in Norman. OU has the edge on neutral courts, 2-1.
The Sooners are undefeated in conference play and won 14-of-15 games in nonconference play.
Their loss was at Arkansas (96-88) on December 30.
OU has three starters who are each averaging double figures for the 2008-2009 season. Blake Griffin leads all starters with 22.1 points and 13.8 rebounds per game. Freshman Willie Warren averages 14.9 points per game. Tony Crocker scores 10.4 points per game.
Texas Tech lost at Kansas State on Wednesday evening, 78-63.
Bolstered by a .514 shooting mark (19-for-37) in the first half, the KSU Wildcats enjoyed a 49-25 lead at the break. The Red Raiders managed to shoot .400 for the first half, making 8-of-20 attempts. Texas Tech improved to .464 (13-of-28) and scored 48 points in the second half to Kansas State's .467 (14-for-30) and 36 points.
Red Raider Nick Okorie was the leading scorer for the game with 21 points.
After missing four non-conference games and seeing limited minutes in several other games due to an injury, Okorie's 21 points against Kansas State was his best performance of the 2008-2009 season. It was also his first 20-point game and his tenth time in double figures.
Alan Voskuil, the senior from L.D. Bell High School in Bedford, Texas, needs eleven points to reach 1,000 career points. He will be the thirty-second Red Raider to join the 1000-Point Club and the seventh player to reach that level since Pat Knight has either been the head coach or an assistant coach at Texas Tech.
Three Red Raiders are averaging double figures for the season. John Roberson is scoring 14.6 points per game. Alan Voskuil is averaging 14.2 points per game. Mike Singletary is adding 10 points per game.
Following the game in Norman on Saturday afternoon, the Red Raiders host the OSU Cowboys on Wednesday, February 18 and the Texas A&M Aggies on Saturday, February 21.
