Tech Plays Double Header at McLeod

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's tennis squad plays a double header at the McLeod Tennis Center tomorrow at 10 a.m. against Midwestern State and then again at 6 p.m. versus No. 21 TCU.
The Lady Raiders (2-4) come into the match after two tough losses to Arizona and Rice. Samantha van der Drift is 4-2 on the season after beating Julie Chao of Rice last time out. The senior is three wins away from being the all-time win leader in program history. Kelsy Garland is one of three Lady Raiders to have a winning singles record in the young season going 4-2. Stefanie has the other winning record as she is 4-2.
Tech's doubles teams have seen some change as of late. Natalie Leitch and Simone Templeton are 1-1 as they beat Arizona's Ariane Masschelein and Jane Huh. The other new duo is Stefanie Peana and Kerryn Potgieter. The pair lost two close double matches against Arizona and Rice.
Midwestern State University will be Tech's opponent in the first match at 10 a.m. at the McLeod Center. Midwestern State comes into the match with a record of 4-2. No. 21 TCU will be the nightcap as they bring in a 4-3 record. Two of TCU's losses have come to No. 8 Georgia Tech and No. 10 Miami (Fla.).
The Midwestern State match will start at 10 a.m. and the TCU match will begin at 6 p.m. Both matches can be followed live by going to www.texastech.com.
