Lady Raiders to Play in Barnes Collegiate Invitational

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's tennis squad look to get back on track at the Barnes Collegiate Invitational being held in San Diego, Calif., starting tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. (PST).
The Lady Raiders are looking to break the three-match losing streak after facing No. 4 Baylor, No. 27 Texas and No. 36 Texas A&M last week. The No. 44 duo of Samantha van der Drift and Kelsy Garland had a good week as they went 3-0 in doubles play. Garland and van der Drift jumped up 13 spots in this week's Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings.
The Barnes Collegiate Invitational has eight teams including Tech competing including No. 44 Mississippi, No. 48 San Diego, University of Texas-Arlington, New Mexico, Northern Arizona and Utah. Tech's first opponent is Northern Arizona who brings in a 6-6 record on the year.
Tech's first match begins at 9:30 a.m. (PST) against Northern Arizona. Results of the match can be found at www.texastech.com.
