- The all-time series between Texas Tech and UC-Riverside is now tied at 2-2. The two teams will meet again on Thursday in the first game of the 2009 Palm Springs Invitational.
- Texas Tech's four errors on the night marked a season-high. Tech has now allowed nine unearned runs in the last two games with both games resulting in one-run losses.
- Freshman designated hitter Scott LeJeune struckout four times on the night and in the process had his seven-game hit streak come to an end.
- Tech's four runs in the ninth inning marked the first runs by the Red Raiders in the final frame of a game this season.
