Texas Tech Loses Heartbreaker To Texas A&M

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Texas Tech softball suffered a heartbreaking loss to Texas A&M, as the Aggies came from behind to win, on a walk-off home run by Erin Glasco in the bottom of the seventh. The Red Raiders will close out its series with Texas A&M tomorrow at 2 p.m. CT at the Aggie Softball Complex.
Texas Tech (13-31/2-8) got started early when Leah Legler drew a lead-off walk and advanced to second when Stephanie Drewry laid down a sacrifice bunt. Both runners advanced an additional base when the Aggie pitcher made an errant throw to first base. With runners at second and third, Alex Watkins singled up the middle to score two runs and give Tech the lead, 2-0.
Emily Bledsoe singled up the middle to start off the second inning, followed by a single from Ashley Hamada. Legler then hit into a fielder's choice and was safe at first, while the Aggies threw out Bledsoe at third. Stephanie Drewry would single up the middle to score Hamada to up the score to, 3-0.
In the third, Elizabeth Eimen would draw a lead-off walk and Alex Watkins would be hit by a pitch to put runners at first and second. The Aggies would get the lead runner Eimen, when Megan Shupp hit into a fielder's choice. Next, Skyler Peterson knocked plated Watkins as she singled up the middle increasing Tech's lead to four runs, 4-0.
Texas A&M pulled within two runs in the fifth inning, when Kara Rau hit a two-run home run over the right-field wall to cut Tech's lead in half, 4-2. The Aggies pulled within one run, plating one in the sixth courtesy of two Red Raider errors and a single by Alex Reynolds.
In the bottom of the seventh with one on and two outs, Aggie Erin Glascoe hit a walk-off two-run home run over the left-field wall to give Texas A&M the win over Texas Tech, 5-4.
Seven of the nine Red Raiders in the lineup registered a hit. Watkins extends her hitting streak to 12 games, and added two RBIs to her team leading 27. Drewry and Peterson also plated a run each for Tech.
