- Today's win over UNLV gives the Red Raiders a two-game sweep of the Rebels and Tech's first midweek sweep since New Mexico State at the end of last season. UNLV leads the all-time series 6-4.
- The four hits and three RBIs on the day for freshman second baseman Garrett Totten were both career highs.
- Sophomore catcher Jeremy Mayo hit his eighth home run of the season in the eighth inning to give the Red Raiders a 13-5 lead. Nick Hanslik hit his first home run of the year in the next at-bat and that marked the third time this year that Tech has posted back-to-back home runs.
- Junior center fielder Taylor Ashby tied his season-high for consecutive game hit streak this afternoon as he hit in his seventh-straight.
- Freshman third baseman Justin Berry went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs scored to earn his 15th multiple-hit game of the year.
- Texas Tech has now won four of its last five games and five of the last seven dating back to the finale at Oklahoma. The Red Raiders are now 14-5 at Dan Law Field.
