- Junior shortstop Joey Kenworthy picked up his 22nd multiple-hit game of the season tonight as he drew two-out singles in his first two at-bats.
- Dallas Baptist shortstop Ryan Goins hit a grand slam in the second inning and that marked the second allowed this season by the Tech pitching staff. Martin Parra of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi hit the other grand slam against the Red Raiders at Whataburger Field in Corpus Christi back on March 18.
- With the save tonight, Chad Bettis has moved into a tie for fourth place on the school's career saves list with seven.
- Texas Tech matched its season-high of 21 hits tonight. Tech posted 21 hits previously against Kansas back on April 17.
