Texas Tech Takes on Oklahoma

LUBBOCK, Texas - Fresh from their 78-71 win over Iowa State on Wednesday, the Texas Tech Red Raiders (13-5, 1-3) take on the Oklahoma Sooners (11-7, 2-2) on Saturday at 7 PM at the United Spirit Arena.
The Red Raiders and the Sooners will be meeting for the 46th time since the series began on December 27, 1944. Oklahoma leads the series 29-16. Each team has won ten games in Lubbock. OU has a 17-5 margin in Norman and a 2-1 edge on neutral courts.
Oklahoma completed non-conference play with 11 wins and 7 losses.
The Sooners are 2-2 in conference games. They have home wins over Oklahoma State (62-57 in overtime) and Missouri (66-61). Both OU losses have been on the road. They lost at Baylor (90-61) on January 9 and at Texas A&M (65-62) on January 19.
For the season, OU is averaging 74.7 points per game and allowing their opponents 70.7 points each game. In conference play, the Sooners have scored 62.5 points over their first four games, and their Big 12 opponents have posted 68.5 points per game.
Willie Warren leads his team in scoring with 17.6 points per outing. Tony Crocker is averaging 11.8 points and 6.5 rebounds each game. Tiny Gallon scores 11.2 points per game and leads the squad with 8.9 rebounds per contest. Tommy Mason-Griffin hits for 10.8 points per game.
Texas Tech earned their first conference win of the season with their 78-71 victory over the Iowa State Cyclones on Wednesday evening.
After going scoreless for the first time since January 28, 2009, at Texas A&M, Mike Singletary led both teams in scoring with 23 points. Mike paired his 23 points with 11 rebounds for his third double-double of the year.
John Roberson followed with 20 points and teammate Nick Okorie added 15 points for the Red Raiders.
Senior Darko Cohadarevic pulled down 12 rebounds and dropped in eight points to add to the Texas Tech total.
The Saturday evening game against the Oklahoma Sooners will be televised on the Texas Tech Sports Network (TTSN). Brain Jensen will call the play-by-play. John Harris will provide the game analysis.
In Lubbock, the game will air on KAMC-TV.

After Saturday's game, Texas Tech is on the road for their next two conference contests. The Red Raiders play the UT Longhorns next Wednesday in Austin and the Texas A&M Aggies next Saturday in College Station.
The Red Raiders return to the United Spirit Arena on February 6 in a 12:30 PM match-up with Oklahoma State.
