- Texas Tech now stands at 9-12 overall and at 1-2 in Big 12 Conference play.
- Texas Tech snapped its seven-game losing skid today with a 13-7 win over Texas A&M. Prior to today, Tech's last win was a 9-7 victory over Gonzaga on March 9.
- Texas Tech scored in double digits for the first time since beating Bethune-Cookman 14-12 on Feb. 27 at Dan Law Field. Tech's 15 hits against the Aggies is tied for the second highest total of the year and the most since tallying 15 against Bethune-Cookman on Feb. 25.
- Today's game against Texas A&M was the 146th all-time meeting between the two clubs and the 71st meeting in College Station. With the win, Texas Tech now trails the series to A&M 90-56 and to 54-17 in games played in College Station.
- Texas Tech's offensive outburst was the highest against the Aggies all season as Tech put 13 runs on 15 hits, erasing previous marks of seven runs and 11 hits set by Washington State.
- Sophomore designated hitter Scott LeJeune played defensively for the first time this season as he started the game in left field. Prior to today's game, he had started all 20 games as Tech's designated hitter.
- With a single in the fifth inning, freshman second baseman Jamodrick McGruder extended his current hit streak to seven games. He also tallied a season-high three hits on the afternoon.
- Barrett Barnes' bases-clearing triple in the fifth was his first three-bagger of the year and RBIs 20, 21 and 22 of the season. He finished the day with four RBIs and now has 23 RBIs on the year.
