RED RAIDERS SET TO HOST NO. 20 K-STATE
Texas Tech will host No. 20 Kansas State in Big 12 action this weekend. The Red Raiders and Wildcats will face off in a three-game series at Dan Law Field beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The series will resume at 6:30 p.m. on Friday and will conclude at noon on Saturday. RANKINGS
K-State enters the weekend ranked No. 20 by Collegiate Baseball Magazine, 21st in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches' Poll and No. 28 by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association (NCBWA). Texas Tech is unranked.
TELEVISION
Thursday's game will be shown on various network affiliates across the state and regionally on Fox College Sports. David Thetford will call the action for Texas Tech Sports Network while Mike Gustafson will provide analysis.

THE SERIES
Texas Tech comes into the weekend series with a 25-15-1 lead in the all-time series with Kansas State. The Red Raiders also hold a 12-5-1 advantage in games played in Lubbock.
TEXAS TECH - KANSAS STATE NOTES
- Thursday's game will mark the 42nd meeting between the two clubs and the 19th meeting here in Lubbock.
- Last season, after shutting the Wildcats out 6-0 in the series-opening matchup, Texas Tech snapped a five-year, 23-series road losing streak with an impressive 12-6 win over then-ranked No. 10 Kansas State in Manhattan in game two of the conference series.
- The last Red Raider home victory over the Wildcats came in a 19-4 blast on April 20, 2008.
The Kansas State Wildcats bring a top-25 ranking (No. 20) to Dan Law Field this weekend for the series against Texas Tech. The Wildcats improved to 20-3 with an 8-5 home win over Wichita State on Tuesday at Tointon Family Stadium. Over the weekend, K-State moved to the top of the Big 12 standings after taking three against the visiting Oklahoma State Cowboys. The series sweep was the first opening conference sweep since the Big 12 began.
Offensively, Kansas State enters the series with a .341 batting average, while recording 17 double-digit hit games in 23 matchups this season. Junior Carter Jurica leads the team hitting .409 on the season with 33 RBI and four home runs while the shortstop has managed to reach base at least once in all 23 games.
The K-State defense ranks third in the conference as the Wildcats have earned a .977 fielding percentage while committing 21 errors in 23 games. The Wildcat pitching staff boasts a collective 3.67 ERA. As a staff, K-State has allowed 84 earned runs while recording 165 strikeouts. The K-State starting rotation of Ryan Daniel, Evan Marshall and Kyle Hunter have combined for an 11-0 record in 18 starts and a 3.00 ERA, allowing only 36 earned runs in 2010. Sophomore Kyle Hunter leads the staff earning a 5-0 record with a 1.78 ERA in 35.1 innings of work while only surrendering seven earned runs and striking out 18 batters on the season.
