Red Raiders Host Huskers on Saturday

LUBBOCK, TX - The Texas Tech Red Raiders are back home at the United Spirit Arena to host the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. with game coverage provided by the Texas Tech Television Network.
Brian Jensen will provide the play-by-play and John Harris will add the game analysis. In the Lubbock area, the game will air on AT&T U-verse (13 and 756), DISH Network (13), Suddenlink (7), and is broadcast over-the-air on KLBK-TV. The game is also available on ESPN Full Court and ESPN3.
Mark Finkner will call the courtside action against the Huskers along with analyst Andy Ellis on the Texas Tech Sports Network flagship radio station Double T 104.3. Sirius subscribers will find the game on channel 125.
Nebraska has a 16-9 lead in the series, which began on December 9, 1955. Each team has won six games in Lubbock. The Huskers won the only neutral site game and have a 9-3 margin in Lincoln.
Nebraska completed the nonconference portion of the season with a 12-2 record and are 2-2 in conference play. The Huskers began conference play with a win over Iowa State, 63-62, before dropping their next two games on the road. They lost at Missouri, 77-69, and at Kansas, 63-60. Returning home, Nebraska defeated Colorado in their last game, 79-67. For the season, the Cornhuskers are 13-0 at home, 0-2 on the road, and 1-2 on neutral courts.
After eighteen games, Nebraska has averaged 69.3 points per game while holding their opponents to 56.1 points per game. They have two players averaging double figures for the season. Jorge Brian Diaz leads his team with 10.4 points per game. Lance Jeter is second on the squad with 10.2 points per outing.
In their last game, Texas Tech lost at Oklahoma, 83-74. John Roberson led the Red Raiders with 21 points. Brad Reese posted 15 points and led the squad with seven rebounds. Mike Singletary added 10 points.
After nineteen games, Texas Tech is averaging 73.2 points per game and allowing their opponents to score 75.5 points per game. The Red Raiders have three seniors averaging double figures. Mike Singletary tops the team with 12.7 points per game. John Roberson has improved to 12.3 points per outing. Brad Reese is the team's leading rebounder with 5.9 rebounds per contest and averages 12.1 points per game.
John Roberson is Texas Tech's career assist leader. He has 569 assists and is No. 4 on the Big 12's all-time list. The Plano senior has tallied 1,556 career points, and his 21 points at Oklahoma moved him ahead of Mike Russell's 1,545 career total. John is 12th among all Red Raiders in scoring. Teammate Mike Singletary has scored 1,384 points in his Texas Tech career. The Humble, Texas native is 18th on the all-time scoring list.
The Red Raiders continue Big 12 play on the road at Iowa State on January 26. Texas Tech is back at the United Spirit Arena on January 29 against Oklahoma State, and on February 1 against Kansas.
