Texas Tech Loses at Oklahoma State

STILLWATER, Okla. - Texas Tech suffered its sixth-straight loss as it fell to Oklahoma State, 62-52, Wednesday night at Gallagher-Iba Arena.
The first half saw seven lead changes with Tech (16-7/3-6 Big 12) getting its largest lead of the game of five points, 17-12, when Chynna Brown hit a jumper with eight and half minutes to go in the first period.
Over the course of the next five minutes, the Cowgirls (14-8/2-7 Big 12) outscored Tech 10-4 to take back the lead. Their biggest lead of the half was eight points, 29-21, with 1:41 to play as Vicky McIntyre converted a three-point play - a layup and a free throw.
OSU led 29-22 at the half.
The Cowgirls opened the second half by scoring the first basket 10 seconds into the period to take a nine-point lead. OSU continued to control the game until 15:27 when Tech started a 10-1 run capped off by a layup by Shauntal Nobles to give the lady Raiders a 42-41 advantage with 11:39 remaining.
OSU took back the lead on the next possession on a layup by Tiffany Bias, but Kierra Mallard responded with a layup and was fouled and connected on her free throw to give Tech back the lead at 44-43 with 8:06 to go.
The Lady Raiders got up by three, 46-43, when Mallard hit one of two free throws with 7:41 left on the clock.
After neither team scored the next two minutes, the momentum switched back to the Cowgirls as Bias made another layup with 5:45 left, cutting Tech's lead to one. OSU scored on its next two possessions to take a 50-46 lead with four minutes remaining.
Tech knotted the game at 50-50 on a pair of free throws by Mallard with 3:38 to go. The contest was tied again with just 2:46 left at 52-52 before Tiffany Young made two free throws for OSU with 1:15 to go.
On its next possession, Tech missed a layup by Brown and Nobles fouled Young to send her to the line for two shots. She made both to give the Cowgirls a four-point lead, 56-52. Casey Morris turned the ball over for Tech and had to foul, this time sending Bias to the charity stripe and she made both, 58-52, with 40 seconds on the clock.
Nobles missed a layup on Tech's next possession with Young getting the rebound and Kelsi Baker fouled her with 22 seconds left. Young again made both attempts to give the Cowgirls an eight-point advantage. Young made another two free throws with eight second left to give OSU the 10-point win.
Mallard led Tech with 20 points, 16 of those coming in the second half. Brown chipped in 16 points. Mallard also finished with eight rebounds, four steals, two blocks and an assist.
Young scored a game-high 30 points to lead the Cowgirls.
The Lady Raiders shot 39.6 percent (19-48) from the field and OSU shot 38.9 percent (21-54).
The Cowgirls outrebounded Tech 39-34.
The Lady Raiders committed a season-high 27 turnovers.
